Nicely has no accounts and no sign-up. The app identifies your device with a random anonymous device ID used only for subscription and quota state. Your contact list, contact names and contact policy never leave your device. If you use the Relay number, the phone number of the person you are texting is sent to our service and stored so messages can be delivered to you; we do not collect your address book.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time.
This applies to phone numbers collected through contact designation, opt-in, or any other path. Mobile information is used solely to send the messages you author through the Nicely app. Information may be shared with subprocessors (Cloudflare, OpenRouter, Twilio, Apple) strictly as required to deliver the service; those subprocessors are bound by their own data-protection terms.
Message content you choose to rewrite, and (only if you opt in to cloud processing on a device without Apple Intelligence) received messages that need summarizing, are transmitted to our service in memory only — it is never logged, never stored, and never used for training. Relay messages are stored as ciphertext that only your device can decrypt, until delivered; our service and Twilio process the text in transit and Twilio keeps its own message logs. Paired messages and photos between two Nicely apps are end-to-end encrypted and held only as ciphertext until delivered. A record export you create is yours to keep; it may be added to your own iCloud or device backups. Push notifications contain no message content.
Message and data rates may apply. Sending and receiving SMS through the optional Relay feature uses your mobile carrier's messaging plan; standard rates apply.
Message frequency: varies. Nicely is opt-in per message; the user initiates each send. Most users send roughly 1–5 messages per week to each designated contact, but there is no fixed schedule. Sending can be paused at any time.
Opt-out instructions: the recipient can reply STOP at any time to opt out, STOPALL to cancel all future messages, or HELP for program information. The app processes opt-outs immediately and will not send to a recipient who has opted out.
Program name: "Grey Rock relay" — the program name is shown in every OptInMessage, OptOutMessage, and HelpMessage reply so the recipient always knows who is messaging them and how to opt out.
Nicely is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We will post material changes here with an updated effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
