Say it nicely.
Keep it about the kids.
Hard conversations get harder when every message is a reaction. Nicely sits between your first draft and the send button, and between their harshest messages and you.

You can’t control what they send. You can control what you send back, and when you read it.
Shielded from the worst of it
Hostile, belittling or threatening messages hit hardest when they land with no warning. Nicely changes how you meet them.
You read the summary, not the spike
Messages you hold in Nicely arrive as a calm, neutral summary, tagged as logistics, hostile or urgent, so you know what needs you without the sting.
The original waits for you
The full text stays behind a short pause and a deliberate tap. Read it when you are ready, with a clear head, or not at all.
Keep proof without rereading it
Flag a message to include in your signed record, so you can document what was said without living in it.
Their texts stay out of your Messages
With the optional Relay number, a contact’s texts arrive in Nicely and never in your Messages app. Texts from numbers not in your Contacts can be filtered to junk too.
Nicely cannot stop someone from sending a message, and it cannot read your Messages app. It protects what you see and when you see it. It also will not help you reply in kind: it refuses drafts that are abusive, threatening, or aimed at a third party.
Three things that make it easier
Built for parents who share children with someone they find hard to talk to.
Say it nicely
Write what you actually want to say. Nicely turns it into a short, factual message in the Grey Rock or BIFF style. You review it, edit it and send it yourself.
Read less of the spike
Messages you hold in Nicely arrive as a neutral summary. The original stays behind a short pause and a deliberate tap, so you read it when you are ready.
Keep the record
A shared calendar, expenses with receipts, kid info cards and moments, all in writing. Entries are permanent on purpose, and you can export a signed record whenever you need one.
A calmer draft, and why
A live tone meter shows how a message will land, and names what is heating it up, with a calmer way to say it.
- Catches blame, “always” and “never”, sarcasm, old history and ALL CAPS.
- Can ask “would you be okay with your kids hearing this?” before a heated draft goes out. You can turn that off.
- A Phrasebook of calm replies: acknowledge, decline, not now, set a boundary.
- Paste a message you received, or a screenshot, and get a calm reply to edit.
- Works in the Nicely keyboard too, so it can rewrite right inside Messages.

Harmful messages, held back
Connect with a co-parent who also uses Nicely and talk app to app, encrypted, with photos, and no phone numbers involved. Or paste in a message and get the summary.
- Summaries first, tagged logistics, hostile or urgent. The original is one deliberate tap away.
- A weekly look at how many were held, how many were hostile and how many were urgent.
- Messages and photos between two Nicely phones are end-to-end encrypted.
- Optional Relay plan: a Nicely number for one contact, so their texts never reach your Messages app.

Fewer arguments about logistics
Custody time, handoffs, appointments and costs live in one place, with requests and answers in writing.
- Shared calendar with requests and answers.
- Expenses with receipts and approvals, so what is owed is never a debate.
- Kid info cards for allergies, doctors, sizes and school details.
- A private place to vent that is never sent, and Moments to note what happened and when.

Private by design
Your contacts and your kids’ names stay on your phone.
No account
No sign-up, no email, no ads and no tracking. Nothing to log into.
On your phone first
On phones with Apple Intelligence, rewriting and summaries happen on the phone. On other phones you choose: secure cloud rewriting, where your draft is processed in memory and not stored, or skip it.
Yours to export
Entries are permanent so a record can be trusted, and a signed export is yours to keep. Nobody can quietly edit history.
Honest about iOS
Nicely cannot read your Messages app, and iOS lets no app do that. iOS filters only SMS from numbers not in your Contacts, never iMessage. Nicely tells you what works for each contact.
Simple plans
Reading summaries is free for everyone. Plans pay for rewriting.

Questions
Will Nicely send messages for me?
No. You always review, edit and send it yourself. The one exception is messages between two Nicely phones, which you send from inside Nicely like any chat.
Does my co-parent need the app?
No. Nicely works on your side of the conversation. If they also use Nicely, you can connect and talk app to app.
Which phones does it work on?
iPhones running iOS 26 or later. Rewriting is fastest and most private on phones with Apple Intelligence; other phones can opt in to secure cloud rewriting.
Will it help me write something harsh?
No. Nicely will not help with a draft that is abusive, threatening, or aimed at a third party.
Is this therapy or legal advice?
No. Nicely is a writing aid. It is not therapy, legal advice or crisis support, and it is not for use against another person. If you are in danger, contact local emergency services.
